All the buildings feature flexible open office plan concepts with fixed core/support areas, state-of-the-art integrated telephone/data systems, and energy efficient electrical and mechanical systems.  Some of the designs include innovative and very flexible heating and cooling systems which have qualified for rebates from a local energy efficiency agency.

In each case, efficient, clean design, flexibility in concept and execution was their hallmark.

Bank of Vermont Corporate Plaza
Burlington, Vermont

The Bank of Vermont sought to consolidate office space and convey a new image through its move to four floors of a planned seven-story structure in Burlington’s Central Business District.  However, the bank did not want to entirely abandon its historic roots represented by the historic horseshoe teller counter in an adjacent building.  The palette for this fit-up was directly related to this historic artifact.  The granite, mahogany, and etched glass materials are detailed in a consistent and contemporary manner, conveying the appropriate image for a modern financial institution.

A two-story atrium linking the main floor with the office areas above included custom-made workstations on the first floor.  Etched glass between these stations and the main lobby provide separation yet promoted an openess, allowing natural light from the perimeter to penetrate into the atrium lobby.

Vermont Federal Credit Union
South Burlington, Vermont

This structure is one of two facilities produced for the Credit Union under a design-build contract between DEW Construction Corporation and Wiemann Lamphere Architects.  This three-story urban office building is a condominium project.  The previous site owners, two attorneys, will occupy the third floor.  The Credit Union will own and occupy the 3,000 square foot ground floor.  The Credit Union and primary building entry is a design element common with the St. Albans branch and is intended to create branding identity.

This project underwent an extensive review process by the city of South Burlington because it occupies a promenant site at one of three gateways to the new City Center which is scheduled to begin construction in 2008.
